Today I’m incredibly excited to announce that Veeqo has secured a £3.3 million growth investment from Octopus Investments.
Octopus are one of the most well-regarded investment firms in London. So it’s amazing to have them on board propelling Veeqo’s growth along with our existing investors Dan McPherson, New Look founder, Tom Singh, and equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
The funding makes Veeqo the first Welsh company to raise an investment of this size. And I’m extremely proud to help lead the way for tech businesses in this part of the country.
How the funding will help
Veeqo is already a dominant player in the UK market. But we want to further strengthen this position as well as expand into the US.
So this added funding will help to:
- Make the Veeqo platform even more powerful by adding features and functionality that improves the way omnichannel retailers sell and ship.
- Add to our already fantastic team in key areas.
- Scale up our growth strategy driven by inbound marketing, outbound sales and strategic channel partnerships.
We’ll also be able to open up a North America based office later in 2019 – adding to our HQ in Swansea, South Wales and additional locations in London and Bishkek.
All meaning we’ll become one of the only companies founded in Wales to boast a truly global footprint.
The future’s looking bright
Veeqo is on a mission to help retail brands provide the best experience possible for their customers. And this investment helps us take a huge leap forward in achieving this.
Having the Development Capital team at Octopus Investments on the board gives me great confidence that we’ve built something amazing at Veeqo.
The Octopus Group are one of the biggest players in the UK investment scene – collectively managing more than £8.5 billion on behalf of all their customers.
Meaning they only invest in what they see as the best and brightest opportunities.
I’d like to say a massive thank you to all our customers, employees and investors who have supported Veeqo over the past few years. I’m excited to scale Veeqo higher, further and faster in 2019 and beyond – it should be a fun ride.
